Happy New Year everyone! What a start! ☔️🌨️❄️ After today’s icy and sludgy conditions, we’ve decided to postpone the first Cookies & Donuts of 2026 until next Friday (16th January). We’ll see you there! ✨ Keep warm! 🧣🧤
Families and friends of Avening Primary pupils bou Families and friends of Avening Primary pupils bought over 100 cups of mulled wine and mince pies at the school Christmas performances this December 🍷🥧 Over 40 cups of coffee, 20 cups of tea, and a host of delicious cakes, sweets and Christmas treats. The result? Over £500 raised for Avening Primary School. An outstanding amount! Enormous thanks to everyone who donated food and drink, the volunteers who served at the performances and of course, to all those who made a purchase! Special thanks to Morrisons in Nailsworth for your generous donation of mince pies ✨🎅🏻🎄 It’s been a fantastic term of fundraising. Thank you everyone ✨
We held a non uniform day at school during the fir We held a non uniform day at school during the first week of December, asking children to each bring an item to be included in a Christmas Hamper Raffle. From wine, chocolates and crackers, to biscuits, cakes and mince pies, we received some fantastic donations, resulting in ten fabulously festive hampers! Mrs Harris worked her magic and wrapped each hamper to perfection ✨🎅🏻🎄 Thank you 💜 We sold over 450 raffle tickets, which is an amazing result! Thank you so much to everyone who donated items and purchased tickets, such a super fundraising total… … and congratulations to our ten winners! ✨
Thank you everyone who joined us at the Avening Ch Thank you everyone who joined us at the Avening Christmas Fayre earlier this month. Despite the pretty constant downpour, many of you braved the elements and came to sing, craft, play, shop and be merry! Thanks to the Avening Silver Band, Avening Angels, and children of Avening Primary, the hall was filled with wonderfully festive songs and cheerful Christmas carols. With the help of FOAS volunteers, we organised a Christmas market of local makers and artisans, ran a crafts table including an introduction to screen printing for children, served delicious food and drinks, ran a coffee stall, painted faces, braided hair, hosted games and sold sweets. Phew! Special thanks again to all the wonderful local businesses who donated some incredible goods, your generous support is hugely appreciated… 💚 @willowandcolifestyle Champion Sausage Company @morrisons @the.canteen.nailsworth @ravecoffee @hobbshousebakerynailsworth @henrysbakehousecafe @bluediamond.homeandgarden @cakesmiths.hq Thanks to all these amazing contributions, donations and support, you have helped to raise over £1,700 for Avening Primary School. Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us a Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at our two wonderful wreath making workshops. We loved getting into the Christmas spirit, and watching you enjoy your beautiful creations. Thank you to Katy for all your hard work foraging, organising and teaching the workshops… all whilst managing your own busy schedule of Christmas markets 💚 Thanks again to everyone who donated foliage, ribbons, tools, wire, twine, mulled wine, mince pies and homemade bakes. Your contributions were hugely appreciated, and had a huge impact on our profits. @sewandsostroud @bluediamond.homeandgarden @morrisons Finally, thank you to all the FOAS members who gave your time to help decorate, serve refreshments and complete the huge tidy up. You are superstars! ✨ Together, you’ve all helped raise over £1,000 for Avening Primary School. Such a fantastic result, thank you! Unsurprisingly, it’s been a busy time of year for our small charity, and events like these have so far helped us to fund two Christmas theatre coach trips with refreshments, source Secret Santa gifts for every pupil to give to a loved one, buy over 100 crackers for the school Christmas lunch, and fund a sack full of Christmas gifts from Santa to the children. We couldn’t achieve this without the super fundraising support from you. Thank you everyone 🎅🏻✨🎄

Today, we have lots of festive treats including Astrid’s wonderful homemade cookies, along with popcorn, donuts, mince pies and sweeties from Jolly Jingles Sweet Shop 🍬🍪🍩🍭 See you at the earlier time of 2.30pm 🎄✨ As always, cash and phone/card payments accepted. We were all treated to another excellent Christmas We were all treated to another excellent Christmas show this afternoon, this time from KS1 and their performance of “A Midwife Crisis”. Huge smiles, booming voices and plenty of fun. It was so lovely to watch the children enjoy the stage with such confidence. With less than week to go until the Christmas Raffle draw, there’s still time to grab yourself a ticket for your chance to win one of nine fabulously festive hampers. Wonderfully wrapped and packaged by Mrs Harris, each hamper is filled with a feast of goodies including chocolates, biscuits, wine and cakes. Perfect for Christmas!
