Samantha Povey is a local photographer and visual Samantha Povey is a local photographer and visual artist who likes to work with different mediums. She brings her wonderful cyanotype collection to Avening tomorrow. Cyanotype is an alternative photographic printing process that uses a light-sensitive solution to create distinctive Prussian blue, monochromatic images. The process involves coating paper or fabric with a two-part chemical solution, placing objects or negatives on the surface, and exposing it to UV light before washing with water to reveal the final print. Samantha creates beautiful cyanotype pieces in various forms, including decorations, cotton pouches, notebooks and bookmarks.
